u-16 player profiles (F-K)

Sarah Finnane (Galtee Rovers)

Sarah began playing football at her club in 2009 and won her first Club County Final in the U-12 ‘A’ Championship with Galtee Rovers / St Pecaun's. 2015 saw her repeat this achievement again winning her second u-12 ‘A’ County Final title, an u-14 'C' county final and winning the u-12 County Blitz Cup.

2017 was a very busy year representing Tipperary at the U-14 age group reaching the finals of the All Ireland blitz in Portlaoise. With her club she was on the team that won the Feile Shield in Clones, Co Monaghan, reached the semi-finals in the Kilmacud All Ireland 7’s, won her third Club County ‘A’ Final medal, the U-14 Division 1 League, U-17 Division 2 League and captained her school to win the Munster Post Primary Schools Cup.

In 2018 she won a Munster ‘B’ championship medal against Waterford and reached the All Ireland ‘B’ Championship final against Mayo. With Galtee Rovers she again reached the U-14 ‘A’ county final and U-19 C county final.


Kate Flannery (Galtee Rovers)

This Tipp Lady first began playing football in 2009, and in 2013 she represented her school winning the National School U-13 & U-11 County Finals.

In 2014, she won her first Club County Final in the U-12 ‘A’ Championship with Galtee Rovers / St Pecaun's and repeated this again in 2015 winning her second U-12 ‘A’ County Final title. She also represented her school winning the 1st year Secondary School Munster title.

2017 was a very busy year representing Tipperary at the U-14 age group reaching the finals of the All Ireland blitz in Portlaoise. With her club she was on the team that won the Feile Shield in Clones, Co Monaghan, reached the semi-finals in the Kilmacud All Ireland 7’s and also won her third Club County ‘A’ Final medal.

She was the U-14 county vice-captain in 2018, won a Munster ‘B’ championship medal against Waterford and reached the All Ireland ‘B’ Championship against Mayo. With Galtee Rovers she again reached the U-14 ‘A’ county final.

She enjoys participating in many sports such as Rugby (with Fethard & District RFC) and Hockey (with Clonmel HC), Camogie (with Cahir) and represented Tipperary in 2017 and 2018 in the Camogie A Championships.


Aoife Flynn (Galtee Rovers)

Aoife began playing football in 2010 with Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s. In 2014 she won her first Club County Final, the u-12 ‘A’ Championship and repeated this again in 2015 by winning her second -12 ‘A’ Club County title. In 2017 she was on the Galtee Rovers St. Pecaun's team that won the County Feile and All Ireland Feile Shield in Clones, Co. Monaghan and went on to win a third Club County ‘A’ title this time at u-14. Aoife represents her school playing on the junior football team and basketball team and plays camogie for Cahir.


Ellen Gantley (Cappawhite)

Ellen started playing football in 2014 with Cappawhite and reached an u-12 'B' final losing out to Clonmel Commercials.

In 2015, she won her first Club County Final in the u-14 ‘D’ Championship with Cappawhite and also in the same year won an u-16 'C' with Cappawhite.

In 2018 Ellen won the Division 1 Adult league with Cappawhite joining the Senior panel.

She also represented Tipperary in u-14B in 2017 were she won a Munster 'B' Championship medal and an All-Ireland 'B' Championship medal.

Ellen has also a keen interest in Camogie were she has won 'A' County finals at u-12, u-14 & u-16. She won a Camogie 'A' All-Ireland final in 2017 and has been on the u-16 'A' panel in 2018 & 2019.



Aoibhe Gayson Molloy (Galtee Rovers)

Aoibhe began playing football with her club Galtee Rovers in 2017 which was a very busy and very successful year - winning the County Feile, reaching the semi-finals in the Kilmacud All Ireland 7’s, winning her first u-14 County ‘A’ Final medal, winning the Division 1 u-14 Summer League and Division 2 u-17 Summer League. 

The following year in 2018 she reached the semi-finals of the u-16 ‘A’ Championship, won a Junior Division 2 League title, reached the semi-finals of the Junior 'B' Championship and was selected to represent her county in the u-16 age group.


2019 has been a very busy and successful year so far - with her school in 2018-2019 she has won four Munster and three All-Ireland titles - both the Post Primary School's Senior & Junior Munster Football titles, the Post Primary School's Senior & Junior Munster Camogie titles, an All-Ireland Senior Camogie medal, an All-Ireland Junior Camogie medal, and an All-Ireland Junior Football title. 

Aoibhe also reached the Munster semi-final with her County, and with her club is through to the u-16 'A' final this year.


This busy lady also represents her school in Basketball, and enjoys playing Rugby and Soccer too.  


Megan Heffernan (Galtee Rovers)

Megan began playing football in 2009 with her club and first represented her County in 2015.

In 2014, she won her first Club County Final in the U-12 ‘A’ Championship and repeated this again in 2015 winning her second U-12 ‘A’ County Final title.

In 2016/2017 she was awarded with the St Ailbe’s Sports person of the Year award after winning the Munster Junior School Football Final where she was named Player of the Match.

2017 was a very busy year representing Tipperary at the U-14 age group reaching the finals of the All Ireland blitz in Portlaoise and the Munster ‘A’ Final. With her club she was on the team that won the County Feile and reached the semi-finals in the Kilmacud All Ireland 7’s and also won her third Club County ‘A’ Final medal. She was selected to represent her County in the U16 ladies football squad for 2018.

She reached the County ‘A’ Championship semi-finals in 2018 with her club and reached the Munster Final with Tipperary.

She also has a keen interest in soccer and plays for Tipperary Town Ladies Football Club (TLFC). She was captain of the U12 Boys/Girls team that won the Tipperary Cup and received Player of the Month. She represents her county with South Tipperary Soccer and played on the U-14 North Munster regional team.


Eabha Hogan (St. Patrick’s)

This Tipp Lady first started playing football in 2007 and joined St. Patrick’s Ladies Football Club in 2010. Eabha was on u-12 development squad in 2014 and progressed to representing her County in 2015.

Previously in 2014 she played on the team that won the u-12 community games county and were Munster runners up. In 2016 she won the Primary School Blitz u-13 ‘C’ Plate and were the u-14 community games county winners.

2017 was a very busy year for Eabha with both her school and club. With St Patrick’s she progressed to the All Ireland u-14 inter county blitz and were runners up and won her first County Final medal in the u-19 'C' County Championship. With her school she claimed a Munster Schools Junior ‘E’ title and was awarded Junior Footballer of the Year.

In 2018 she represented her school at the Munster schools Senior 'D' level and were runners up and with her club she claimed her second County Final medal in the Junior 'B' County Championship and were the Thurles Sarsfield Football Fest 7-a-side u-16 runners up.


Saoirse Keating (Clonmel Commercials)

Saoirse first began playing football in 2012 with Clonmel Commercials and first represented her county in 2016 with the u-13 Development Team. During her time in Primary School she enjoyed success in the Cumann na mBunscoil u-11 competitions in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In the u-13 competition they reached the final in 2013, 2014 and 2015. She received the Schools Sportsperson of the Year Award in 2016. In her Secondary School she is currently on the Junior team playing in an A Munster final and Senior Teams where she has won a Munster title this year.

In 2017 she was on the u-14 Tipperary Panel that reached the final of the All Ireland Blitz and the Munster ‘B’ Final. In 2018 with the Tipperary u-14’s she won a Munster ‘B’ Championship medal and reached the All Ireland Final in the ‘B’ Championship. They also reached the Final of the Division 1 ‘All Ireland Blitz’ in Portlaoise.

With her Club Clonmel Commercials she has enjoyed success at u-12 'B' County in 2014, u-19 'B' County in 2017 and 2018 and reached the County Final in 2018 for u-17. She was also on the Intermediate Panel that won the County in 2017.
