Grab Your Whistle Level One Referee Course
The Grab Your Whistle Level One course takes place Saturday January 21st in Cahir GAA dressing rooms from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. It would be important for all clubs in the county to have at least one qualified referee. Anyone interested please email tipplfsecretary@hotmail.com before Friday January 20th.

LOTTO
The jackpot for the September draw is €4,000. There was no winner of the August jackpot of €3,800. The winning numbers were 10, 12, 18, 21. The four lucky dip winners were: Noreen Ryan (Upperchurch Drombane); Kevin O'Connor (Moyle Rovers); Sarah-Jane Burke (Ardfinnan); Ailish O'Meara (Mullinahone). Lotto tickets are available from any Ladies Football club officer at a price of €2.00 per ticket or an annual ticket may be purchased at a cost of €20.00 for 12 draws. LADIES FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME AWARD
Congratulations to Sally Duggan of Moycarkey Borris on being inducted into the Ladies Football Hall of Fame at the TG4 Ladies Gaelic Football All-Star Awards at the CityWest Hotel, Dublin on 16th November. The Premier County native was present at the inception of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association in the Hayes Hotel, Thurles in 1974. Sally had a glittering inter-county career winning three All Ireland medals as well as a National League and four Provincial titles.
In 1998, Sally and her sister Ann reformed the Moycarkey Borris club which had been disbanded in 1985 and led the club to success in the Junior A Championship. Sally has fulfilled many administrative roles at both Club and County level and is a worthy recipient of the Hall of Fame Award.

TIPP FM SPORTS AWARD
Congratulations to the County U16 team and their Management team of Libby Grogan, Conor O'Dwyer and Derry Peters who won the Tipp FM Sports Award for August following their All Ireland victory. They will be presented with their award at an awards night, details of which will be published soon.
4th ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
Tipperary Ladies Football will hold their 4th Annual Golf Classic on Friday 14th August, 2009 in Cahir Park Golf Club. Teams are €200 for 4 people including meal. Sponsorship for T Boxes is at a cost of €100 or if anyone would like to offer raffle prizes, your help would be kindly appreciated. Each club is asked to forward the following monies to Biddy Ryan, Assistant Treasurer, Carrigitaha, Cahir, Co. Tipperary by cheque, clearly stating the details of the amount of the cheque . Teams will not be permitted to compete in any League or Championship games for the coming 2009 season until this money is paid:
Club Registration: €150.00 per club
Team Registration: €50.00 per team being entered

Following notification from Central Council, Players’ registration amounts for 2009 with effect from 1st April, 2009 are as follows and should be paid to your clubs treasurer as soon as possible:

GOLDEN GOAL FUNDRAISER:
Thanks to all who supported Tipperary Ladies Football Association's golden goal draw for the Tipperary V’s Cork Munster Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Final game which took place on Sunday 31st May, 2009 in Semple Stadium @4:00 p.m. Tickets were available at a cost of €2 each. The winner will receive €100. The official winning time was 35 minutes, 31 seconds, however no one returned with this time to the County Board Chairperson so it was agreed by the County Board to pay out the prize money of €100 to the nearest time which was 35 minutes, 34 seconds. Congratulations to the winner Gillian Collins from the Mullinahone Ladies Football Club.

fundamentals course:
Each Club Mentor is obliged to complete a Fundamentals Coaching course. The Fundamentals Coaching course was held Saturday 28th March, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Munroe GAA complex. The day went off extremely well and was attended by 24 participants in all. A further date will be arranged following the success of this course, please contact Shane Ronayne, Development Officer on

REFEREES COURSE:
A two day referees courses is also being arranged with the following being possible dates: either Saturday 18th April & Sunday 19th April, Saturday 18th April & Saturday 25th April or the last option is Saturday 25th April & Sunday 26th April. A maximum of 20 places are available for this course, so each club representative who is interested in completing this course should contact the Development Officer at the above details.
A referees’ refresher course will be arranged if a demand is shown so if there are any current referees who wish to complete this course they should make their details available to the Development Officer.

CHILDREN'S WELFARE OFFICER INDUCTION COURSE:
We would like to extend our thanks to Edel Hickey, Children's Welfare Officer for arranging an induction for all Tipperary Ladies Football clubs on Wednesday 27th May in Tipperary Institute, Thurles. Thanks to William Harman and George Young also for attending on the night.

DEVELOPMENT SQUADS:
U13 and U15 County Development Squads will be arranged during the year and the Development Officer has asked that any Club Mentors who wish to become involved in training these squads would contact him and make themselves known to him.

MENTORS WORKSHOP:
This workshop was held on Thursday 26th March, in Cashel Parochial Hall and was administered by Paula Prunty, National Development Officer and William Harman, Munster Development Officer and was well attended by all representatives.

FEILE:
Cahir defeated Moyle Rovers in the Feile Blitz which was held in Duneske, Cahir on Saturday 28th March and will go forward represent Tipperary in the National Feile Competition.
The Cahir ladies team who represented Tipperary in the Feile Competition in Kildare during the weekend of the 3rd to the 5th of July were narrowly defeated in the Final. Congratulations to all involved for making it that far. The Cahir Ladies Football Club were hosted by Suncroft Football Club.
We would also like to wish the best of luck to the Galbally ladies in the Feile Competition in Kildare. The team is represented by some of the Aherlow girls although the team will be representing Limerick.
We would also like to wish the best of luck to the Cahir ladies in the Community Games Munster finals which are being played on Saturday 11th July in University of Limerick.

SCHOOL RESULTS:
We would like to congratulate the girls from Coláiste Dún Iascaigh School, Cahir who competed in the All Ireland Senior “B” Football Final on Wednesday 1st April, 2009 at Clann na nGael GAA Grounds, Co. Roscommon. We commiserate with them following their defeat but extend our congratulations on reaching the final and putting in such an excellent performance.
We would also like to congratulate the boys from Coláiste Dún Iascaigh school, Cahir who defeated the boys from Glanard, Co. Longford in the All Ireland Senior “B” Football Final on Saturday 28th March at Dundrum on a scoreline of 2-19 to 2-18 following extra time. Congratulations to all involved.

At the 35th Annual Congress, which took place in Canal Court Hotel, Newry, Co Armagh; the following Tipperary Representatives were elected to the following committees:

Mr. Enda McDonnell, Templemore – elected to the Hall of Fame Committee

INTERPROVINCIAL LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL BLITZ - MUNSTER WIN:
Congratulations to the Tipperary Ladies Football Manager Shane Ronayne who was a selector on the Munster Interprovincial team who compete and won the one day interprovincial blitz in Co. Westmeath on Saturday 30th May, 2009 against the other three provinces of Ireland. The Tipperary player who were selected to participate in the blitz were: Jennifer Grant, Angie McDermott, Gillian O'Brien, Edel Hanley and Mairead Morrissey. (Jennifer Grant was unable to attend the blitz on the day). Congratulations to all involved.

THURLES CLUB TRAVEL TO THE USA
Best wishes to Thurles Sarsfields club who have group of 50 mentors and players travelling to the USA to Washington DC to play the DC Gaelic Ladies Football team. The group are flying out Wednesday 24th June and are to return Monday 29th June, 2009. May you all have a safe, pleasant and enjoyable trip. We will upload photo's when the group return..

BORD GAIS DIVISION 2 NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2009 ALL STARS
Congratulations to the following girls from the Tipperary Senior Ladies Football team who received a National Football League All Star following their impressive division 2 league campaign in 2009. The girls received their all-star awards at an event held on Tuesday 9th June, 2009 at Level 5, Cusack Stand, Croke Park, Dublin.

2009 LADIES FOOTBALL SUMMER FUN BLITZES
Please find information available to download which has been discussed by the Juvenile Fixtures Committee. It has been decided to run an U12 Blitz (for 12 year olds only) and an U13 Blitz (for 13 year olds only). All details of how the blitz will operate are in the download. It is hoped to hold the first blitz the first week in July. As soon as a venue for the first blitz has been confirmed, you will all be notified by text, so please ensure you provide a contact person, their mobile number and an e-mail address where applicable on the form. This information should be returned to John O’Gorman at johnogormanvet@eircom.net by Monday 29th June, 2009 so that we can ensure that all interested players are registered. If you do not have any interested players or any players who match the criteria, please simply let John know by text at 087-2068617 so that he knows.
