A Review of 2011
Senior Championship 2011
In 2009 when Tipperary Club Brian Borus won the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship, Tipperary as a county going forward from 2010 are graded as a Senior County for Intr-club competition. In 2010 Brian Borus represented Tipperary in the Munster Club Championship (the first team to do so since the late Eights) and were beaten by Ballymacabury by 2 points after extra time. In 2011 we had our first senior championship for a long number of years. Cappawhite moved up to Senior after winning Intermediate Championship in 2010.In our Senior League final played in May Brian Borus had a fifteen point win over Cappawhite. However in the senior championship final Cappawhite turned the table on Brian Borus and ran out winners by 2 points. Cappawhite are the first club to receive the Joe Mc Grath perpetual cup which was presented to Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football Co. Board by the Mc Grath family and the Moyle Rovers club to honour Joe’s lifelong work for Ladies football. Cappawhite in the first round of the Munster Club championship lost to The Banner Club from Clare by a point after extra time. As Intermediate champions in 2011 Moyle Rovers will move up to Senior for 2012.
