LADIES FOOTBALL GOES GAGA AT THIRD LEVEL!!!!
This month Munster Ladies football will be coordinating the Ladies Gaga programme in 7 colleges across the province. This programme, now in its 4th year, is aimed at third level students who want to enjoy playing ladies football without the pressures of competitive action. It affords those who have not played in a long time or who have played very little the opportunity to enjoy the sport in a fun non-competitive atmosphere. Across the province third level colleges are currently busy recruiting students for this programme. The six week programme will culminate in a fun blitz for all sites in the fantastic setting of Cork Institute of Technology. The following colleges are signed up to participate in the programme: Waterford institute of Technology, Cork Institute of Technology, University College Cork, Institute of Technology Tralee, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick Institute of Technology and University College Limerick. For further information contact: Mary Beades, Munster Development Officer, marydev@munsterladiesgaelic.ie or a member of the ladies football club in the respective colleges.
CLUB AFFILIATION FEE FOR 2012
Please note that the affiliation fee for 2012 is now due for all clubs. This fee is €150 and can be sent to the County Board Treasurer, Biddy Ryan. Her address is Carrigataha, Cahir, Co. Tipperary. Alternatively, the fee can also be paid at the next County Board meeting (February 6th).
UPCOMING COUNTY BOARD MEETING
The next meeting of the Tipperary County Board will take place on Monday 6th February, 2012@ 8:00 p.m. in Cashel.
LIST OF REFEREES
Could all clubs please compile a list of the referee/referees that they used in 2011 and will be using in 2012 for their home games for all championships and leagues. This list should include each referees address, mobile number and whether or not a ladies football referee training course has been completed. If a course has been completed then could you please indicate the appropriate level i.e Grab Your Whistle Level 1, Grab Your Whistle Level 2 or Grab Your Whistle Level 3. All of this information can be emailed to the Referees Co-ordinator for the county, Veronica Meaney (veronica.meaney@hse.ie). I would greatly appreciate if all clubs could have this information forwarded to Veronica by Thursday, January 26th.
Tipperary Ladies Football County Board held their A.G.M in St Joseph’s Primary School Templemore on 5th December, 2011. Our thanks to Templemore Club for hosting same and providing refreshments. Almost a full turns out of the 30 clubs registered were present.
Out-going Chairman Enda Mc Donnell thanked all who contributed to the running of Ladies football in the county for the past year. Having completed 5 years as chairman he informed the meeting that he would not be seeking re-election. In a brief outline of his 5 year tenure he said that he enjoyed every single moment of it and got great satisfaction representing Tipperary. The hosting of National Congress in the Abbey Hotel Nenagh in 2007 and our teams winning All-Irelands at Intermediate (Croke Park) in 2008 the first adult title since 1980, Under 16 in 2009 the first under age title since 1983, Under 14 in 2011 the first ever at this age and Brian Borus club All-Ireland the first ever Tipperary club to win an All-Ireland were the high lights his term of office. Bring club strength from 18 to near 30 clubs had given him great satisfaction. His one regret was not been able to get more Club established in North Tipperary, but vowed to keep working until a ladies club was established in every Parish in the Co.
